A note from SSC Earl F. Smith - I found your Internet address in an article in the USCG Retirement Newsletter. I was on the Tam from February 1965 to May 1967. I was on the Deck Force striking for cook.
We had a mustang for a skipper named Atherton. He was a boastswain to his bones and handled the Tam like a 40 footer. He had a real deep voice. I can remember him getting on the 1mc to request coffee from the stewards. I have lots of fond memories of the Tam.
I've also included a picture of the Lipan. I was TAD for a month on her.
