I was on the Tam during this period. This was the June 87 International Ice Patrol. We took the International Ice Patrol, which are Coasties mostly officers and MST types up around Newfoundland. For about three weeks we cruised around looking for icebergs, we found many, photographs were taken sightings logged, etc. We even launched the small boat for samples and an up close look. The photo was probably taken by Rob Mullinax, still in, who took many photos durin the patrol, one of which ended up in the Commandants Bulletin.
